Just to mix it up a bit I deemed today Titus Tuesday! A few verses stuck out to me when I was reading this morning and I wanted to share. This is a relatively short letter from Paul to Titus. He is leaving Titus in charge in Crete to make sure the new believers are not mislead by false teachers. How true is that to our life? I know often it’s so easy to be swayed by what fits into our agenda, not Gods.
“To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.” Titus 1:15
“and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned , so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us” Titus 2:8
Umm…WOW! So I have to admit I never spent much time in Titus and maybe it’s just where I am in life that I was drawn to it. I know there have been so many people I have come across that just wish to only see the bad or even create it where it isn’t there. Paul is letting Titus know ” hey there are people that no matter what you do is wrong because their minds are corrupted”. I used to become so wrapped up in everyone liking me because I know I am a good person and what reason do the have not to like me. But of course they’d find something and I would be convinced I was the monster they thought I was. Truth is they’re seeing me for what they THINK is there not what is actually there. It was a freeing moment when I realized that.
If I act and live Godly those that oppose me will have nothing to say about me. Such solid advice isn’t is? There are definitely times I say something and later feel horrible because it either wasn’t necessary or said out of anger. We’ve all been there and it happens. It goes back to just trying to live a Godly life and if you are true to that it will be ok.
I know this isn’t a regular post but I hope you all enjoyed my brief Titus Tuesday! Now go out and have a Titus day!!! GoD wants us to lead those that are new and current believers and steer clear of those that are corrupted.
Have a blessed day!
